The Problem

Although Adam possessed the technical expertise required to succeed as a mobile mechanic, he lacked the branding necessary to establish a strong market presence. He required comprehensive support, including the development of a logo, website, and a targeted advertising strategy, to build his business from the ground up.

The Solution

The Outcome

This project was highly collaborative, as Adam’s target audience was unfamiliar to me, requiring in-depth discussions to gain insights and ensure the strategy was aligned with his business goals.

After this process, we came up with a logo that built on an AI generated design but was then pulled into Illustrator to make it stronger and more unique. The name “4MECH” was chosen because it was punchy and memorable, and appealed to the efficient, “no-nonsense” nature of his intended audience. Once a logo was produced, many alternative formats were created as well as four pillars of his business, which could used on his website (which I built on WIX) and on his trailer as a decal.

The logo needed to be as bold and memorable visually as the sharp, impactful sound of “4MECH”, so a mechanical-looking font was chosen and the colours (pale yellow and pale grey) offered a strong contrast against the black background, and referenced the metallic coloration of gold and silver. Finally the icon, a wrench tool intertwined with a gear, provided opportunities to use this graphic on its own for company swag or as a website favicon, etc.

Finally, many pieces of Adam’s business needed to be considered, so a business strategy was created that included: registering his company with the government, setting up accounting software, providing him with a 1-800 number and a professional email, and assisting with receipt and expense tracking procedures.

At the time of this update, Adam has been in business for just over a year. He has established a loyal and growing clientele, with demand surpassing his capacity. His logo has gained recognition and respect throughout the region, and his monthly income has increased fourfold since the business’s inception. Currently, Adam is focused on expanding his service offerings. He has invested in advanced diagnostic software, acquired a second welder, and purchased a 2025 Ford F350 to support his continued growth.
